Stormwater System Repair

9/2/2020

Ever wonder why you see these large ponds close to residential developments and businesses?  Stormwater Basins, also known as retention ponds, are a the main line defense in the reduction of flash flooding.  They also help to reduce chemical runoff into our waterways.  Here's how it works...
Picture
During rainfall events, water from parking areas, roofs, and other impervious surfaces is routed to large ponds.  Over time, this water is slowly released to ditches or stormwater sewers which eventually travels its way to larger natural bodies of water.  This in turn, reduces large amounts of water overwhelming local infrastructure which often results in flooding by slowing the flow.  The Florida Panhandle has experienced tremendous growth over the last few decades and stormwater construction and management is vital to keep flooding minimal.

Over time, sediment deposits buildup in the retention area which in turn results in  reduced capacity.  It is additionally difficult to mow and maintain stormwater retention areas once sediment buildup has begun.

Parking Lot Repairs

7/9/2020

Putting off parking lot repairs can be costly.

Potholes, trip hazards, large cracks in your pavement.  Property owners and managers look as these as costly expenses and sometimes put off calling a qualified asphalt repair specialist to fix the problem.

Have you noticed how potholes seem to get larger quickly over time.  This is due to water intrusion into the sub base material.  Asphalt is designed to be supported by a compacted base material.  When this limestone or sand gets wet, it becomes soft and can't support the weight of vehicles on its surface.  Asphalt is designed to keep surface water from soaking into the base material.

Over time, defects in your asphalt will begin to surface in proximity to the original failure.  This results in more areas needing attention.  In addition, trip hazards can be a liability for both property owners and operators.

Landworks has the personnel, expertise, and equipment to evaluate your parking lot and give you a detailed plan for repairs and continued upkeep.  From pot hole repair, parking lot paint striping, rubber crack fill repair, sealcoating, and overlays... we offer the solutions for your curb appeal.

Call today for a free estimate.  Landworks serves the entire Florida Gulf Coast Panhandle from our Santa Rosa Beach office.

Foresty Mulching

6/23/2020

Foresty Mulching is a great way to clear future building sites, cleanup lot perimeters, and clear out unwanted under brush.  Landworks utilizes several types of machinery to complete this type of lot clearing.  Trees, branches, and stumps are turned into a biodegradable ground covering that works as an excellent covering for grass to germinate and grow.

With the small lots we encounter in the Santa Rosa Beach area along 30a, forestry mulching gives us the opportunity to be very precise.  Call Landworks today to schedule a free estimate at (850) 353-3894.
